Abstract: If library is heaven, then our student-librarians are adorable angels who come from students and in turn creatively and persistently promote resources, services, and reading/culture activities to the students. The project of Student-librarian was initiated in 2016, by recruiting students on campus to actively participate in planning and organizing reading/culture events (e.g., the Library Orientation for Freshmen) and routine library services (e.g., operation of XTU Library’s social media matrix). The student-librarians have the dual identity of students and librarians, and serve as a bridge building communicational links among the university library, colleges, departments, faculty and students. Such a special characteristic allows student-librarians to better exert peer influence and put what they learn into practice (especially for those major in library science), when being part of providing library services. The project not only enhangces the university library service, but also compensates for the inadequate human resources and funding of the library. By the year of 2022, there have been 390 student-librarians in this project, greatly contributing to develop and promote the university-wide reading events in the past seven years. In 2022 alone, the student-librarians planned and organized 75 activities, attracting more than 32,100 offline visits and 2.64 million online.
