Library work in an uncertain time in Hässleholm and Malmö Public Libraries
(International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), 2022-10-24) Mjöberg, Anette; Dimbald, Mia; Olsson, Nina
Our poster will give highlights how our libraries engage, connect and inspire citizens to work with the SDG and promote a sustainable life. In Hässleholm we have organized a new area "Sustainable corner" for materials concerning environmental subjects. For families we have "Green Saturday" in the Childrens Library. For example could they last summer fetch a "Green vacation bag" with seeds, a book and garden tools. We have set up a "Health Corner" with books, materials and lectures about health. During the pandemic we started with digital Shared Reading Poetry for staff working alone in the branches. At the moment we have Shared Reading projects for the general public together with the Relatives Center. The Green Library in Malmö is based on Agenda 2030 , which include "ensuring lasting protection for the planet and its natural resources". The world's library (Världens bibliotek) at the city library in Malmö. Is a digital library service that provides e-books and digital audio-books in 16 different languages. A collaboration between the national libraries in Sweden and Norway and accessible for everyone with a computer or mobile device within the Swedish and Norwegian borders. This service aims to provide an equal access to literature.
