    Das Schulbibliotheksmanifest der IFLA/UNESCO „ Die Schulbibliothek im Lehr- und Lernprozess für Alle“ erschien 2000. Es wurde weltweit sehr gut aufgenommen und in viele Sprachen übersetzt. Immer noch erscheinen weitere Übersetzungen und überall verwenden Bibliothekare das Manifest, um das Profil der Schulbibliothek in ihren eigenen Schulen, Regionen und Ländern zu schärfen. Das Manifest stellt fest: Die Regierungen, die durch ihre Bildungsministerien für die Erziehung und Bildung verantwortlich sind, werden aufgefordert, Strategien, Verfahren und Pläne zu entwickeln, um die Grundsätze dieses Manifests in die Tat umzusetzen. Die Richtlinien sollen in einem lokalen Kontext gelesen und angewendet werden.

Este documento ha tenido una muybuena acogida en todo el mundo y se ha traducido a muchos idio mas. Cont inúan lastraducciones y bibliotecarios de todas partes del mundo están utilizando este documento parapromover la biblioteca escolar en sus escuelas, regiones y países.En el manifiesto se expresa lo siguiente:“Se exhorta a los gobiernos, a través de su ministerio de educación, a desarrollarestrategias, políticas y planes que permitan implementar los principios de estemanifiesto.”Estas nuevas directrices se han escrito para informar a los líderes nacionales y locales de todoel mundo, y para guiar y apoyar a la comunidad bibliotecaria. Se han escrito para ayudar a lasescuelas en el proceso de implementar los principios del manifiesto.La redacción de las directrices se llevó a cabo con la colaboración de un gran número depersonas de distintos países y de unos contextos locales muy diversos para poder satisfacer asílas necesidades de todo tipo de escuela. Las directrices deberán leerse y aplicarse teniendo encuenta el contexto local.

Il a été extrêmement bien reçu dans le monde entier et traduit dans de nombreuses langues. Les traductions continuent et les bibliothécaires du monde entier utilisent le manifeste pour définir le profil des bibliothèques scolaires dans leurs propres écoles, leurs propres régions et leurs propres pays. Le manifeste déclare : « Les gouvernements, par les ministres chargés de l’éducation, doivent développer des stratégies, une politique et des plans pour implanter les principes du manifeste ». В создании Руководства принимали участие представители разных стран с очень различными ситуациями, которые стремились учесть потребности школ всех типов.
