    Patient Experience Stories collection
(International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), 2023-10-10) Valente, Elsa; Vercouteren, Maaike; Schanstra, Erica
Coleta Platenkamp was coping with a chronic illness when she learned that many fellow patients wrote down their experience with their illness and with healthcare. She started a foundation to collect all these stories in one place. The goal was that patients could learn from each other. When the collection grew too big to manage for one person, she looked for a place to house the collection. Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management turned out to be the ideal candidate. They teach and research management of healthcare and saw this as a valuable source of information. The Erasmus University Library made the collection accessible for patients and (future) healthcare professionals.
