Moving away from traditional, monumental library designs, this facility embraces a philosophy of "openness and transparency." By integrating natural greenery with advanced digital technology, it strives to become a vibrant hub for knowledge exchange and professional development in the region. To lead the transformation of the library profession, the Southern Branch has established the "LIS Innovation Lab." This lab is designed to serve as a national venue for professional training and the implementation of emerging technologies. Its service planning focuses on two core pillars: "ACTIVE Framework for Professional Empowerment" and "Innovative and Inclusive Service R&D." Pillar 1: ACTIVE Framework for professional empowerment The framework offers an extensive curriculum that redefines librarians' expertise. It covers foundational topics such as Advanced Information Organization and Collection Development, while diving deep into modern essentials like AI-driven applications, Media and Information Literacy, and Social Media Marketing. Furthermore, courses in Design Thinking, Service Quality Management, and Innovative Spatial Design are provided to enhance librarians' capacity for digital transformation and service optimization. Pillar 2: Innovative and Inclusive Service R&D The Service R&D initiative serves as a collaborative incubator, transforming library services into smart, inclusive community platforms. Partnering with cross-disciplinary experts and universities, the lab focuses on developing smart, inclusive service models for diverse groups, including programs for infant literacy, youth co-creation, and technology-enhanced services for senior citizens and new residents. Through the LIS Innovation Lab, we are building a space where librarians can grow, experiment, and dream big together. By participating in these diverse workshops and professional certification courses, librarians will gain the practical skills to lead the way into a new era. This lab stands as a powerful engine to reshape the future of library services and bring a fresh, modern perspective to communities all across Taiwan.enghttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/National librariesInnovationProfessional developmentLibrary trainingArtificial intelligenceMedia and information literacyLibrary servicesInclusionTechnologyTowards the Future Library: NCL Southern Branch & LIS Innovation LabPostersHung, Wei-HsiangLue, Pau-Kuei
