This programming, in turn, is used as a back door advocacy tool to connect with the "powers that be." The paradigm has shifted; the school library has to become much more than it traditionally once was. Sadly, however, many school librarian positions are being eliminated across the globe. Decision-makers and lawmakers do not know the power and meaningful impact of a school library and a school librarian. School librarians need a booming voice and stalwart advocate to showcase their skills and their countless contributions. Our profession needs someone to be empowering so each of us can become crusaders in our schools.
