Minutes of Meeting: Resource Sharing during COVID-19 Committee, 12 March 2025

The Resource Sharing Collaborative and Volunteering Document Delivery (RSCVD) steering committee held its monthly meeting on the 12th of March, 2025 and discussed the latest successful upgrades on Talaria software with publishing 2 short videos tutorials on the RSCVD website. The updates went smooth. The next phase will focus on the statistics implementation and emails notifications. Silvana notified the committee that they are exploring the Arabic interface due to the high demand from libraries in the MENA region. The next RSCVD demo will be held on the 13th of March for the Bodleian Library, organized by Peter Bae, Carmen Lomba and Katia Medawar. Giovanna will organize a demo on the latest updates to the Italian partners. Carmen reminded the committee about the coming RSCVD nominations in April 2025. The final selection of nominees will take place in August 2025. Katia confirmed that the DDRS proposal at the WLIC2025 is accepted and will follow up with Tuba about securing a booth for RSCVD. The IFLA elections were also discussed , where 15 vacant positions were available for DDRS and 16 candidates. Peter Bae is running for the IFLA Governing Board. Carmen provided an update on compiling the case studies for conversion into a formal paper which will be added to both the Baku repository and the IFLA repository. Ibrahim suggested to publish the paper and case studies in the journal Information Discovery & Delivery before adding them to the repositories.

Minutes of Meeting: Resource Sharing during COVID-19 Committee, 19 February 2025

The monthly RSCVD Steering Committee meeting took place on the 19th of February 2025 and discussed the recent updates of Talaria software, with the coming webinars to take place in Lisbon in May. The WLIC2025 planning committee is working on presenting a proposal where RSCVD will play a role between presenting RSCVD and providing demos in a booth during the congress. And, on the 4th of February, Katia and Ibrahim hosted a RSCVD session for the MENA region in Arabic and organized by the IFLA MENA RO at Qatar National Library. The webinar was successful with 74 participants . The feedback showed that participants learned about RSCVD and are willing to use it in the future. The coming webinars will be in Lisbon in May, in Genova in October, in Marsh for the Bodleian Library, and planning another one for the SiriLanka Library Association and Bangladeshi Librarians. The committee members agreed for the need to write a policy and tips on what can or cannot be requested through RSCVD to minimize confusion as same requests are going to RSCVD and NILDE. The last item was discussing the ILDS2024 papers to be published along to the 4 case studies done from Lebanon, Qatar, India and Turkey.

Minutes of Meeting: Document Delivery and Resource Sharing Section, 06 March 2025

The DDRS Standing Committee met on March 6th, 2025 and evaluated the latest webinar held on the 5th of March reflecting on the take away of the ILDS 2024 conference that was held in Baku on 2-3-4 December 2024. The 3 participants grants recipients benefited from the conference and the people they met and spoke about each own's take away for own library. The 6th webinar will be held in May 2025, with Delnet from India and Andy Appleyard will be the moderator. The date is yet to be decided. The WLIC2025 proposal for DDRS was accepted and the planning committee will be meeting to refine the entire proposal and work on shaping the session's main theme the Sustainability of the IFLA Voucher. The search for host for the ILDS2026 is still open, and todate no bid was received. Members agreed to contact institutions they know to encourage them to host. Chair made some updates on the elections, for DDRS there are 15 seats and 16 candidates. The DDRS Action Plan was updated on time, with the completion of the webinar series, the ILDS2024 conference, only the guidelines are still in working progress. Carmen Lomba Chair of the RSCVD Committee shared updates on RSCVD webinar and current state. On March 13th a RSCVD webinar will be held for the Bodleian Library.

Minutes of Meeting: Management of Library Associations Section, 04 February 2025

The Management of Library Association Section (MLAS) held the Standing Committee Meeting on 4th February in a hybrid format (in-person and virtual) during the MLAS Mid-Term in Berlin, Germany from 3th to 4th February 2025. The Mid-Term which was chaired by Loida Garcia Febo, MLAS Chair, and hosted by Hella Klauser, MLAS SC and the German Library Association. Among the matters discussed during the meeting were updates from the IFLA Governing Board which include IFLA's Financial Sustainability; Final draft of IFLA's World Library Information Congress (WLIC) Review in which Loida through the IFLA Governing Board and Loy Jyoon, through geographical diversity are in the WLIC Steering Committee; IFLA Elections 2025 which was launched on 13 January; IFLA WLIC 2025 which will be held in Astana, Kazakhstan from August 18-22 ; Call for Expression of Interest (EOI) to host IFLA WLIC 2026; IFLA Trend Report which was released at the IFLA Information Futures Summit in Brisbane, Australia and IFLA Strategy 2024-2029. Hella gave an update on the MLAS Mid-Term which was held at the Berlin Public Library. Loida gave an update on 2025 MLAS Webinars which will be held form April to July 2025; MLAS Open Session and MLAS Business Meeting during IFLA WLIC 2025; Updates from New Professionals Special Interest Group and Women, Information and Libraries Special Interest Group.
