Abstract: | Focus areas of this action plan include hosting webinars to build the skills and knowledge to enable librarians to advocate for their place in SDG delivery strategies; collecting impact stories about copyright from libraries, as well as offering support to raise awareness of this as an issue among policy-makers and politicians; looking at the role of libraries around digital inclusion, through both assessing what is already happening, and facilitating webinars that highlight and disseminate good practices; expanding IFLA membership through identifying potential targets and developing materials to convince non-members to join, in particular highlighting areas of focus of the Committee; getting regular contributions, and in particular on ensuring that Canada has a country profile on the Library Map of the World; exploring questions around MLS/MLIS credentials in Canada and other countries, and how to ensure that recruitment and retention strategies support a racially diverse profession. |
