Abstract: In a service oriented environment that is shifting to creative and learning modes, libraries must re-imagine and design their space as a service delivered to readers. The National Central Library has transformed the spaces of Arts and Audiovisual Center into Multimedia Center entitled Open Lab to accommodate a variety of services supporting readers success . This open lab shows a lively and fresh appearance that supplies more open and free spaces for children, youth, and adults since November 19, 2022 . It set a new benchmark for all types of libraries in Taiwan that it is also the first creative practice base in Taiwan and this project is honored with the 2023 American Library Association (ALA) Presidential Citation for Innovative International Library Project entitled Future Makers Incubator for All A Newly Launched Open Lab Multimedia Center of National Central Library, Taiwan ” and the winner of the IPA (Inter national Property Award, IPA) Real Estate Awards 2023 Best Public Space Interior Design Award in Taiwan . This poster shows diverse ways that using library creative space s to support users. Attendees will learn about Open Lab, which combines creativity, exploration, learning, experience, and sharing to make dreams come true through this open, cross disciplinary, collaborative, and communicative space. Space as a Service a way of librarians can meaningfully advance how we rethink our identities and redesign our space as transformation for readers.
