Action Plan 2021-2023: North America Regional Division Committee
(International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), 2022-12-08) IFLA North America Regional Division Committee
Focus areas of this action plan include hosting webinars to build the skills and knowledge to enable librarians to advocate for their place in SDG delivery strategies; collecting impact stories about copyright from libraries, as well as offering support to raise awareness of this as an issue among policy-makers and politicians; looking at the role of libraries around digital inclusion, through both assessing what is already happening, and facilitating webinars that highlight and disseminate good practices; expanding IFLA membership through identifying potential targets and developing materials to convince non-members to join, in particular highlighting areas of focus of the Committee; getting regular contributions, and in particular on ensuring that Canada has a country profile on the Library Map of the World; exploring questions around MLS/MLIS credentials in Canada and other countries, and how to ensure that recruitment and retention strategies support a racially diverse profession.
