    The purpose of these guidelines is to promote digital reference best practices on an international basis. The online environment is uniquely suited to consortial models of work and to the development of shared resources. Libraries in different countries may have different traditions of public service, which both affect their current reference practices and their patrons' expectations. But it is also important to recognize that new technologies will enable librarians to redefine the scope of their public services. These guidelines attempt to create some common standards from diverse traditions in the hope that this will allow the worldwide community of librarians to freely explore the possibilities. Some issues raised in these guidelines may ultimately warrant additional consideration and expansion-issues such as the management of change: how does the administrator of a digital reference project mitigate the impact of new models of work on an institution's staff, schedule, and clients? Additional work might also be done to determine the exact funding requirements for these efforts in a variety of different communities, with respect to staffing, resource acquisition, and equipment.

    Vadlīniju nolūks — sekmēt digitālo uzziņu labākās pieredzes ieviešanu starptautiskā līmenī. Internets ir ideāli piemērots konsorciju darbam, kā arī kopēju resursu veidošanai. Dažādu valstu bibliotēkām var būt atšķirīgas lasītāju apkalpošanas tradīcijas; tās ietekmē gan pastāvošā prakse, gan lasītāju vēlmes. Svarīgi apzināties, ka jaunās tehnoloģijas bibliotekāriem sniegs iespēju paplašināt publisko pakalpojumu spektru. Vadlīnijas ir mēģinājums no atšķirīgām tradīcijām izveidot kopējus standartus, cerot, ka pasaules bibliotēku sabiedrībai tie ļaus brīvi apzināt savas iespējas. Vairākiem vadlīnijās aplūkotajiem jautājumiem nepieciešama pastiprināta uzmanība un padziļināta izstrāde, piemēram, izmaiņu pārvaldībai: kā digitālo uzziņu projektvadītājam jaunos darba modeļus piemērot institūcijas personāla iespējām, procesiem un lasītāju vēlmēm? Papildus darbs varētu būt veicams, lai precīzi noteiktu nepieciešamos finansu ieguldījumus personāla algošanai, resursu un tehnikas iegādei.

    Bu rehberin amacı, uluslararası ortamda en iyi dijital referans uygulamalarının yapılmasını teşvik etmektir. Konsorsiyum modelleriyle çalışma ve kaynakların paylaşımı konularında internet ortamı, çok iyi fırsatlar sunmaktadır. Farklı ülkelerdeki kütüphaneler, günlük referans uygulamalarına ve okuyucularının beklentilerine bağlı olarak, farklı hizmet anlayışlarına sahiptirler. Ama yeni teknolojileri de tanımak, kütüphanecilere, sundukları hizmetlerin amacını yeniden tanımlama olanağı vermektedir. Bu rehber, çeşitli geleneksel uygulamalardan bazı yaygın standartlar oluşturmaya yönelik bir girişimdir. Bu girişim, dünya genelindeki kütüphanecilere, dijital referans hizmetleri ile ilgili olasılıkları serbestçe keşfetme olanağı sağlayacaktır. Bu rehberde öne çıkarılan bazı konular, ek gözden geçirme gerektirebilir ve genişletilebilir. Öneğin, değişim yönetimi: Bir dijital referans proje yöneticisi, çalışma saatleri, kullanıcılar ve kurum görevlisi üzerindeki yeni çalışma modellerinin etkisini nasıl hafifletir?     IFLA Lignes Directrices de Référence Numériques

    Le but de ces lignes directrices est de promouvoir les meilleures pratiques de référence numérique à l'échelle internationale. L'environnement en ligne est particulièrement bien placé pour les modèles de consortiums de travail et le développement des ressources partagées. Les bibliothèques dans les différents pays peuvent avoir des traditions différentes du service public, qui affectent toutes les deux leurs pratiques de référence actuels et les attentes des clients. Mais c’est important encore de reconnaitre que la nouvelle technologies permettra aux bibliothécaires de redéfinir le cadre de leurs services publics. Ces lignes directrices visent à créer des normes communes de diverses traditions dans l'espoir que cela permettra à la communauté mondiale des bibliothécaires d'explorer librement les possibilités. Certaines des questions soulevées dans ces lignes directrices peuvent finalement justifier la considération supplémentaire et les extension-questions, tels que la gestion du changement : comment l'administrateur d'un projet de référence numérique atténue l'impact de nouveaux modèles de travail sur les employés d'une institution, le calendrier, et les clients ? Travail supplémentaire peut également être effectuée pour déterminer les besoins de financement précis de ces efforts dans une variété de différentes communautés, en matière de dotation, l'acquisition de ressources et d'équipement.

    Diese Richtlinien sollen Best Practices im Bereich Digitale Auskunft auf internationaler Ebene fördern. Die Online Umgebung ist auf einzigartige Weise für Konsortialmodelle und die Entwicklung gemeinsamerRessourcen geeignet. Bibliotheken in unterschiedlichen Ländern können unterschiedliche Traditionen der öffentlich zugänglichen Dienste haben, welche sowohl die augenblicklichen Auskunftsgewohnheiten als auch die Erwartungen der Benutzerinnen und Benutzer beeinflussen. Es ist aber auch wichtig zu erkennen, dass neue Technologien den Bibliothekarinnen und Bibliothekaren erlauben, die Reichweite der angebotenen Dienste neu zu definieren. Diese Richtlinien versuchen, einige gemeinsame Standards aus verschiedenen Sichten zusammenzutragen in der Hoffnung, dass dies der weltweiten Gemeinschaft von Bibliothekarinnen und Bibliothekaren ermöglichen wird, die neuen Chancen uneingeschränkt zu erforschen. Einige Punkte, die in diesen Richtlinien angesprochen werden, bedürfen zusätzlicher Aufmerksamkeit und Ausarbeitung - Punkte wie Veränderungsmanagement: Wie kann die Leiterin oder der Leiter eines Projektes Digitale Auskunft die neuen Arbeitsmodelle an die Möglichkeiten der Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter der Institution, der Dienstpläne und den Kundenerwartungen anpassen? Zusätzliche Arbeit könnte auch noch geleistet werden, um die exakten finanziellen Investitionen für diese Bemühungen in verschiedenen Umgebungen zu bestimmen im Hinblick auf Ausstattung mit Personal, Einwerbung von Ressourcen und Technik.

    Linee Guida per il servizio di digital reference

    Obbiettivo di queste linee guida è estendere le best practices del servizio di digital reference su base internazionale. Il modello consortile di organizzazione del lavoro e lo sviluppo di risorse condivise si adattano perfettamente all’ambiente della rete. Nonostante le biblioteche nei diversi paesi possano avere tradizioni differenti di servizi al pubblico che condizionano le metodologie adottate nel servizio di reference e le aspettative degli utenti, bisogna riconoscere che le nuove tecnologie consentiranno ai bibliotecari di rimodellare tali servizi. Queste linee guida tentano di definire standard comuni partendo dalle diverse tradizioni nella speranza che questo consenta alla comunità globale dei bibliotecari di esplorare liberamente nuove potenzialità. Alcune tematiche sollevate in queste linee guida potrebbero in definitiva giustificare ulteriori considerazioni come, per esempio, la gestione del cambiamento: come può il responsabile di un progetto di digital reference mitigare l’impatto di nuovi modelli di organizzazione del lavoro sul personale del proprio ente, sui propri piani di lavoro e sui propri utenti ? Un ulteriore sforzo sarà quindi quello inerente alla definizione dei finanziamenti necessari per affrontare questo impegno nell’ambito di comunità diverse, riguardo alle differenti esigenze di personale, acquisizione di risorse ed attrezzature.

    El objetivo de estas recomendaciones o directrices es promover las mejores prácticas de referencia digital a escala internacional. El entorno en línea está singularmente adaptado para trabajar cooperativamente y compartir recursos. Las bibliotecas de diferentes países pueden tener distintas tradiciones de servicio público que afecten tanto a sus prácticas de referencia actuales como a las expectativas de sus clientes. Sin embargo, se debe reconocer que las nuevas tecnologías harán posible que los bibliotecarios redefinan el ámbito de sus servicios públicos. Estas recomendaciones son un intento de crear pautas comunes a partir de diferentes tradiciones, con la esperanza de que la comunidad internacional de bibliotecarios pueda explorar libremente sus posibilidades. Algunas de las cuestiones presentadas en estas directrices podrían justificar el planteamiento de otras de mayor consideración y extensión, como la gestión del cambio: ¿cómo aborda el administrador de un proyecto de referencia digital el impacto de nuevas formas de trabajar sobre el personal, el programa y los usuarios de una institución?.     Het doel van deze Richtlijnen is best practices inzake Digitale Inlichtingen wereldwijd te bevorderen. De internetomgeving is bij uitstek geschikt om te komen tot samenwerkingsmodellen en tot gemeenschappelijk gebruik van bronnen. Bibliotheken in verschillende landen kunnen verschillende stijlen van dienstverlening hebben die van invloed zijn zowel op hun huidige inlichtingen-praktijk als op de bij hun klanten bestaande verwachtingen. Het is belangrijk te onderkennen dat nieuwe technologieën bibliotheken in staat stellen de reikwijdte van hun dienstverlening te heroverwegen. Met deze richtlijnen wordt vanuit verschillende tradities een gemeenschappelijke houvast geboden, met hoop bedoeling dat de bibliotheekgemeenschap wereldwijd hierdoor in staat gesteld wordt vrijelijk de mogelijkheden te onderzoeken. Sommige zaken die in deze Richtlijnen aan de orde komen zullen uiteindelijk nadere overweging en uitwerking vergen - zaken zoals veranderingsmanagement: hoe past de projectleider van een digitale inlichtingenproject de gevolgen van nieuwe werkprocessen aan bij de mogelijkheden van de staf van de instelling, in het rooster, en tegenover de klanten? Aanvullend werk moet ook gedaan worden om te bepalen wat de noodzakelijke financiële investeringen voor deze dienstverlening zijn in een hele reeks van uiteenlopende gemeenschappen, zowel wat betreft staf, als voor de verwerving van bronnen en technische uitrusting.

    Riktlinjer för digital referensservice

    Syftet med dessa riktlinjer är att skapa en gemensam, internationell standard för elektroniska referenstjänster. Internet och IT ger en unik möjlighet att utveckla gemensamma resurser och att arbeta i konsortieform. De tjänster biblioteken erbjuder skiljer sig åt mellan olika länder och detta påverkar både arbetet med referenstjänst och biblioteksanvändarnas förväntningar. Men det är också viktigt att vara medveten om att ny teknologi gör det möjligt för bibliotekarier att omdefiniera servicen till allmänheten. Dessa riktlinjer är ett försök att samla erfarenheter från olika traditioner och arbetssätt för att försöka åstadkomma en gemensam standard, med förhoppningen att underlätta för bibliotekarier världen över att upptäcka möjligheterna. Troligen kommer några punkter som tas upp i dessa riktlinjer att så småningom ge upphov till ytterligare diskussioner, t.ex. hur hanterar man förändringar: hur kan arbetsledaren göra övergången till nya arbetsmodeller så smidig som möjlig för personal, schemaläggare och användare? Likaså kan det krävas att man mer exakt avgör vilka finansieringbehov som finns inom olika institutioner med avseende på bemanning, resursanskaffning och datorutrustning.

    Σκοπός αυτών των κατευθυντηρίων οδηγιών είναι να προωθήσουν ορθές πρακτικές ψηφιακής πληροφόρησης σε διεθνή βάση. Το ηλεκτρονικό περιβάλλον ταιριάζει μοναδικά σε κοινοπρακτικά μοντέλα εργασίας και στην ανάπτυξη διαμοιρασμένων πηγών. Οι βιβλιοθήκες σε διαφορετικές χώρες ίσως έχουν διαφορετική παράδοση στις δημόσιες υπηρεσίες, οι οποίες επηρεάζουν τις τρέχουσες πρακτικές πληροφόρησης και τις προσδοκίες των πελατών τους. Αλλά είναι επίσης σημαντικό να αναγνωρίσουμε ότι οι νέες τεχνολογίες θα δώσουν τη δυνατότητα στους βιβλιοθηκονόμους να επαναπροσδιορίσουν το πεδίο εφαρμογής των δημοσίων υπηρεσιών τους.
