    Minutes of Meeting RSCVD Steering Committee, 12 June 2024

    The Committee discussed the latest developments in the Talaria software where 2 students were hired for 6 months to investigate reporting technologies and implementing them in Talaria. The newly registered libraries in Talaria will receive a welcome email, and more developments in progress.A new brochure about RSCVD/Talaria was designed to be used in outreach activities. The research4 Life project was also discussed and Peter Bae is doing more investigation to check the scope of the project. More outreach activities are planned in Santander in September, in India as a webinar, another meeting planned in October, and the ALA Conference in San Diego in June. Digital Archiving project to be initiated by Katia to preserve RSCVD history.

    Minutes of meeting: Resource Sharing during COVID-19 Committee, 22 January 2025

    The monthly RSCVD meeting took place on January 16, 2025, led by Committee Chair Carmen Lomba. She opened the discussion by reflecting on ILDS 2024 and invited members to share their impressions and ideas. Silvana provided updates on the Talaria application, suggesting the need for librarian training on the final release, which is expected soon. Lapis Cohen extended an invitation to the RSCVD Committee to participate in the ALA meeting in June 2025 in Philadelphia to discuss the collaboration between SHARE and RSCVD. Katia updated the committee on possible themes being considered by DDRS for WLIC 2025. Discussions also took place regarding the session format, with options including a classical panel discussion, an International World Café, or a fishbowl format. Silvana proposed that RSCVD be represented at ALA as part of the DDRS open session and at the IFLA stand in the WLIC exhibits area. She also suggested developing marketing materials, including brochures and a demo. The committee reviewed upcoming RSCVD activities across different regions: Lisbon (May 27-31, 2025) – Presentation under the theme "Partnership and Cooperation Networks on Open Access Projects." Hispano-American Libraries Webinar – To engage and expand RSCVD’s outreach. MENA Libraries Webinar (February 4, 2025, at QNL) – Conducted in Arabic to support regional library communities. Sri Lankan Library Association & Bangladeshi Librarians Webinar – Aimed at further expanding RSCVD’s outreach efforts. To date, 267 libraries have joined RSCVD. The meeting concluded with a discussion on RSCVD’s sustainability, particularly the need to explore funding opportunities and sponsorships from foundations to ensure long-term success.

    Minutes of Meeting: Document Delivery and Resource Sharing Section, 1 February 2024

    The meeting held on a monthly basis discussed the following: the DDRS action plan and the translation to Chinese to the action plan. The ILDS 2024 conference and call for papers was published on social media and all networks. There was an update about the webinar series planned in English and Spanish, the first one on the 27th of February and the second planned in May. The 3rd webinar will take place in August addressing the South American audience. Promotion of “Document Delivery and Resource Sharing: Global Perspectives” was completed and all members promoted the publication in own countries and around various networks. The RSCVD group updated the action plan for the 2024 with webinars, creating a common presentation and enhanced Open Source software Talaria.

    Minutes of meeting: Document Delivery and Resource Sharing Section, 12 December 2024

    The Standing Committee of the Document Delivery and Resource Sharing met on December 12th and welcomed the NISO committee who presented their findings on the future of the IFLA vouchers. under the “Exploration of new ISO 18626 functionality interesting group: The group has been talking to various entities: IFLA, vendors who support ILL systems and the Center for Interlibrary Loan Transactions (CILLT) regarding the ILL financial transactions. They shared their presentation introducing the initiative. It has been decided to follow up with the IFLA HQ. Andy and Tom updated the committee on their progress in the updates, and to provide an estimated timeline after the holidays. The Committee evaluated the IFLA ILDS 2024 in Baku that was held from 2-4 December, It was a success, very well organized, good attendence 70 and more reflections on lessons learned from the conference for the future one to be held in 2026. A new webinar by the grant recipient of (ILDS 2024) to be organized in February 2025. IFLA elections were discussed as well as creating a committee to decide on a theme for the WLIC 2025.

    The DDRS Standing Committee met on the 13th of June 2024 and discussed the latest updates on the Action plan: the ILDS Conference date has been changed t0 2-4 December 2024 and approved. The 3rd webinar series will be scheduled in August 2024 under the topic: Licenses and Copyright. The 4th webinar will take place in November 2024 about Open Access. The RSCVD updates included enhancements in Talaria, along to a new brochure being created for outreach. The Research4 life project is under consideration with a potential collaboration with RSCVD. Outreach activities will be held in September in Santander Spain, along to webinar in India. Digital archiving will involve documenting all the RSCVD History since its inception.

    The monthly DDRS meeting discussed the DDRS IFLA themes for the WLIC 2025. Several options were discussed NISO survey on ILL processes and the future of the IFLA voucher, the Controlled Digital Lending, sustainability in Resource Sharing, the impact of e-susbscriptions, the eddfect of Open Access on Resource Sharing, challenges in shipping materials internationnally, the future of ILL Digital Controlled Digital Lending. Chair Tuba recommended to consolidate the ideas for the next meeting in February and come up with a theme. The elctions were discussed and Tuba explained to all the process and those in the committee who do not need nominations versus all those who need nominations. Tuba encouraged Committee members to collaborate, support one another dring the nnomination process. The committee anticipates welcomgin 3-4 new members to ILDS. The storage location of the latest ILDS 2024 papers was discussed and IFLA repository and ADA University repository will be homes to all papers.

    Minutes of Meeting: Document Delivery and Resource Sharing Section, 2 May 2024

    The DDRS Standing Committee met on the 2nd of May 2024 and discussed the possibility to apply for the Dynamic Unit and Impact Award 2024, and concluded that it is not the time, and better apply the following year. The ILDS 2024 saw an increase in the paper proposals 28, 3 posters, 4 confirmed sponsors, 10 scholarships requests. Chair expressed the need to find 2 keynote speakers. The 2nd webinar series about AI and Resource Sharing is almost ready, to be on the 15th of May. All logistics are done, and committee members are sharing the poster on all networks. Carmen updated the Committee on the RSCVD birthday that was on 21st of April, and todate 145 new libraries joined RSCVD. The RSCVD presentation is ready to be used by all members. A session about RSCVD to be introdcued in ILDS 2024. The new International perspectives item on the agenda could not be discussed as Suqing from China had to leave before the end of the meeting.

    Minutes of meeting of the DDRS Standing Committee held on Zoom on 2 November 2023. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved. IFLA president's email to members was discussed among the committee along to the Regional Professional Priorities survey. The DDRS Action Plan was submitted - The DDRS wesbite updates was discussed, along to the DDRS activities on Social Media. The ILDS 2024 conference progress was presented by Elcin Mammadov, who is hosting the conference in Baku. The RSCVD project updates was presented by the chair of the group Carmen Lomba with the wecloming of 3 Honorary members, and 4 members newly nominated from the volunteering libraries. The 2023-2025 activities and responsibilities document was updated with the completed actions, and the in process actions.

    The meeting was held on April 4th 2024 and discussed the DDRS updates on the action plan, starting with the ILDS 2024 new developments: 8 new paper submissions, 5 requests for scholarship, 2 confirmed sponsorships. Committee recommended to increase the marketing plan and look for keynote speakers. The 2nd webinar series about AI was updated by Filiz who confirmed both speakers and agreed on 15th of May as a date of the webinar. The 3rd webinar series for South America will be planned by Humberto and Taina and speakers from Mexico and brazil were confirmed. The RSCVD committee updated the DDRS with the latest reviews in Talaria and the plan to celebrate the 4th RSCVD birthday on the 21st of April. Also, a common presentation about RSCVD was done and will be released to be used by all members.

    Minutes of meeting of the DDRS Standing Committee held on Zoom on 5 October 2023. The latest IFLA updated were discussed as no WLIC 2024 and what could be the alternatives. The DDRS blog was removed due to inactivity over 5 years. The recent additions would be directly on the DDRS website under the news section. The ILDS 2024 theme was finalized: "Global to Local: Diversity & Inclusiveness in Resource Sharing” soon to call for papers. The RSCVD initiaitve changed name and new steering committee created to continue with the legacy. The Action PLan was identified to be added in Infinity the new platform created for that. Chair created a document with shared responsiblities aming the committee. The next meeting to be on the 2nd of November.

    The DDRS Standing Committee met on February 6, 2025 and discussed the future of the webinar series that will continue in March and May 2025, in addition to the RSCVD parallele webinars organized by the RSVD Steering Committee. The IFLA WLIC 2025 program was finalized and committee members discussed 2 subjects: Building a Sustainable Future for Resource Sharing in a Changing World or Digital Strategies for Sustainable Resource Sharing. The deadline for the proposla is set to febraury 28th and the Committee members voted between both options. The 1st option was predominant, and was agreed to move with it. The WLIC program committee asked for volunteers to plan IFLA. As for the ILDS 2026 call for bids, it was published on Social Media account of DDRS, the IFLA website and DocDel platform.

    The meeting was held on the 7th of March 2024 and discussed the DDRS updated Action Plan - the ILDS 2024 planning is in progress with 2 confirmed sponsors IEEE and OCLC and 1 potential. The 1st webinar held on the 27th of February was evaluated as a successful event. The second Webinar in May is in preparation. 1 speaker is confirmed and still looking for the 2nd one. The DDRS guidelines are being updated - The RSCVD group will launch the Talaria's 4th anniversary ont he 21st of April. A common general powerpoint presentation is being prepared by RSCVD committee members -New collaboration will be done between RSCVD and the Iranian National Library.

    The DDRS Standing Committee met on Novebmer 7th 2024 and discussed a potential meeting with the International Standard organization” to share the results of a survey that was done about Resource Sharing and IFLA vouchers. The ILDS 2024 is in progress with confirmed Keynote speakers:Trevor Dawes, Inga Davidoniene, Karim Tahirov. 13 papers, 11 posters and a special session about RSCVD. The 4th webinar of the Series was scheduled for the 12th of November with all confirmed speakers from Columbia and Brazil, Andy and Tom updated the Committee on the progress of the major updates of the DDRS guidelines. Chair discussed the need to create a volunteering committee to prepare the WLIC 2025 session . The election and prenomination processes were also discussed, along to the IFLA Strategy and trend report. Under the International Perspective theme, the ILL in Norway was presented by Helen Sakrihei showcasing the ILL process, from laws, legislations, repositories, search and deliveries and digital libraries.

    The Resource Sharing Collaborative and Voluntary Document Delivery (RSCVD) Steering Committee met and updated about the latest action between the group and the Toolkit as part of the collaboration and sustainability for both groups. The Toolkit has added a new column allowing RSCVD libraries to register and join the platform. It was decided to send an announcement via the RSCVD Listserv to inform member libraries about the opportunity to register with the Toolkit. The ILDS Conference happening soon 2-4 Dec., the Committee discussed in details the RSCVD session that will take place on December 4th from 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM.

    This is the second business meeting of the Resource Sharing Collaborative and Voluntary Document Delivery (RSCVD) with an officially allocated new email address rscvdcommittee@gmail.com . The Committee discussed updating the Manifesto, all new enhancement of Talaria open source software, and the official launching of Talaria on the 21st of April, the 4th anniversary fo the RSCVD initiative. The committee is working on creating a common presentation about RSCVD/Talaria that all members will use at workshops, conferences, webinars, etc.
