The Government Information Landscape and Libraries is an IFLA Professional Report that illustrates the challenges and complexities posed by government publishing systems and the need to maintain professional government information expertise in libraries to help users discover and interpret it. The report demonstrates this through a series of case studies that attempt to demystify and spark interest in this rich complexity for selected countries, regions, and institutions worldwide. Government information professionals also face daunting set of challenges to the access and dissemination of this information created by disruptive technologies, budget constraints, and the changing priorities of government bureaucracies - yet access to this information remains crucial for an informed civil society. It is for this reason that organisations such as IFLA, national library associations, and other institutions continue to support professionally educated government information experts.

(International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), 2014-06) IFLA Government Libraries Section; IFLA Government Information and Official Publications Section; Bolt, Nancy; Burge, Suzanne; Monopoli, Maria; Mastora, Anna
