State of Library Engagement in Climate Communication and Education
(International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), 2025-04-28) Redman, Aaron
In order to better understand the extent and scope of climate communication and education (CCE) activities that libraries and library associations are carrying out, IFLA partnered with the Monitoring and Evaluating Climate Communication and Education (MECCE) project to design and implement a global survey. This research, supported by a grant from the Gates Foundation via Stichting IFLA Global Libraries, seeks to dig deeper into the survey responses. In order to better position libraries and library associations around the world to engage on these issues, this project analysed the nearly 600 responses, identifying trends, recommendations, and good practice examples. The resulting report presents a look at how libraries around the world are helping their communities get involved in climate action, and can be used as both an advocacy tool and a roadmap for further developing library work on climate communication and education.
