Abstract: The scholarly publishing environment is witnessing a dynamic shift brought in by the advent of Transformative Agreements (TAs) geared toward Open Access publishing. Collective negotiating has been noted to be yielding success for the industry and national consortia that have managed to secure deals with big publishers; however, the same cannot be said for individual institutions. This paper examines the KAUST library's journey, the challenges, and forecast on Transformative Agreements.
