Abstract: How does a concept that is only a few decades old become embodied in a cultural institution that is several centuries old? How does sustainable development fit into the BnF, a major national cultural institution whose organisation reflects its history from yesterday to today? We will try to answer this question by looking at training courses for youth professionals. After evoking the historical context, we will compare two recent training courses on sustainable development and children's literature: one for teachers and the other for librarians. The aim of this presentation is to show how they complement each other and how they can perhaps bring their audiences closer together.
