dc.description.abstract | A new service pattern has been built in Foshan Library for online book borrowing with the application of the Intelligent Book Storage System and “Zhishudali” Online Book Borrowing Platform. In the Intelligent Book Storage System, a borrowed book will first undergo automated processes including disinfection, film covering, shelving, positioning, packaging, and express order posting with various intelligent sorting and AGV palletizing robots. Then, it will be delivered to readers through the “Zhishudali” Online Book Borrowing Platform, which has achieved integration with other library systems such as the digital library management system and logistics system to provide the public with a high-quality borrowing experience without closing for 24 hours. Thanks to this new pattern, readers can place orders on the “Zhishudali” Online Book Borrowing Platform without visiting the library in person while enjoying the “online shopping” experience of book borrowing before receiving the book in only one or two days. Such a new service pattern has not only solved problems such as the slow borrowing speed and readers’ difficulty in finding books, but also reduced their time and travel costs considering a greener library and society. | en_US |
