Shenzhen, located in Guangdong Province of China, boasts the “National Forest City” with 40.68% forest coverage. Pingshan District is the youngest administrative district of Shenzhen, featuring the National Ecological Civilization demonstration area. As an important cultural and educational window for Pingshan District, Pingshan Library has incorporated sustainable development strategies and green environmental protection concepts into its design, operation, activities and development plans. Through implementing green architectural design concepts, the library creates open spaces to connect cultural, residential and ecological communities, making the interaction between architecture and ecological environment possible. By using green building materials and energy-saving and environmental protection technologies, the library creates a healthy and green environment. Pingshan library also encourages daily energy-saving operations, carries out diversified and interactive green public educational activities, creates an immersion experience space for ecological literature, and protects and promotes local ecological culture...... All of the green practices made by the Pingshan Library act as a bridge for community life, serve the needs of citizens, and support social development. “Head for the library!” has become a new fashion and pursuit for the citizens of Pingshan.en_US
