Abstract
The May 2026 IFLA GIOPS Newsletter highlights the Gyan Bharatam Mission, a major initiative to digitize and conserve manuscript heritage in India. Including the Delhi Declaration’s pledge to protect knowledge for Viksit Bharat 2047. It also tracks the history of GIOPS from its origins as a parliamentary library to its current position as a global leader in government information, highlights the UK Committee of Departmental Librarians’ new Community of Interest, and features recent World Bank Open Access publications on economic, climate and development challenges – all helping to demonstrate GIOPS’ ongoing commitment to helping advance access to government information around the globe.
