Abstract

In this presentation, Tetsuro Kurahashi explains the concept of disaster resilience and gives an overview of Japan's coordinated networks for disaster risk management and emergency response for cultural heritage . The presentation was part of a webinar organized by the IFLA Preservation and Conservation Section (PRESCONS), that explores how libraries around the world can strengthen resilience and preparedness in the face of global climate change and natural disasters. Experts and members of PRESCONS share strategies, case studies, and reflections on collaboration, risk reduction, and sustainable practices for protecting documentary heritage.
