| dc.description.abstract | This paper outlines the changing environment for both LIS education and professionals in the UK. Recognising the need to respond to these changes, the discussion focuses on the role of CILIP in accreditation and the strategy used by the professional body to create a revised accreditation process that was fit for purpose. It identifies key themes that arose from research undertaken as part of the CILIP’s Future Skills Project to review and revise the model accrediting Academic and Vocational qualifications in the UK and overseas. The paper also provides an overview of the new methodology for accrediting academic and vocational programmes implemented in 2013 and the impact this has made. | en |
