dc.description.abstract‘Library Adventure by Bookworms Ages 13-18’ is a youth-focused project that forms a healthy reading culture by encouraging self-directed participation from young adults. Annually, in more than 100 middle and high schools, the teacher librarians and students are all involved in planning and operating activities such as deciding on the books together; sharing thoughts after reading; and writing book reports and creative essays. The main purpose of the project is to make young adults establish self-directed reading habits and grow up into healthy adults contributing to the society; and to make school libraries to become the most popular place where young adults want to hang out. The NLCY is providing supports to carry out reading culture activities; organizes and distributes the lists of books recommended by their peers; and opens workshops for teacher librarians, releases operation casebooks, honors outstanding teacher librarians and students by giving awards.en
