The National Library of Congress (BCN), in its Juridical Library role, has processed the national legal system from its beginning, initially manually and today by computer system. It considers officially published norms and expressly alterations to the legal system. A pressing issue is the coexistence between current and repealed norms, by tacit repeals, organic or no longer in use norms. There are no elements that clearly identify their status which generates various interpretations of the norm, not collected by the BCN due to its processing guidelines, with consequent damage to the legal certainty and security required in any democratic legal system. This paper sheds light on the crucial importance of the BCN, a common service of the National Congress, as the main actor in the purge of the normative through Base de Datos Ley Chile, its principles, standards, and the issue it causes on juridical safety and accuracy. It also mentions some countries that opted for the same solution and the reasons why we estimate that the BCN is the most suitable institution to lead said purge or cleanse.en
