Continuing Professional Development is the dire obligation of the practising library and information professional in the challenging information society, ever-changing user needs, and advancing support tools. The national and international library associations carry the responsibility of the CPD for the librarians. Traditional face-to-face training, discussions and conferences are supplementary with eLearning platforms, making acquisition of knowledge easy, accessible, economical and thus possible across the geographical limits for career advancement. This study aims to explore the use of Virtual Learning Environment tools by professional library associations for career development, collaboration, networking, and building communities across the globe.en
