The rise of mis/disinformation in Sub-Saharan Africa threatens information integrity, democracy, and development. This scoping review examines the roles, strategies, and impact of libraries and information professionals in combating these issues. Focusing on studies from 2015–2025, sourced from Scopus and Google Scholar, the review explores interventions like media literacy programs, fact-checking, stakeholder partnerships, and policy responses. Guided by the PRISMA-ScR framework, it identifies gaps in research, practice, and policy, offering recommendations to strengthen libraries’ role in promoting credible information. The findings aim to support future research and empower libraries to build a resilient, trustworthy information ecosystem in the region
