Abstract: Information literacy is increasingly being recognised as a necessary skill for life, work and citizenship - as well as for academic study - for all of us living in today's information society. In August 2012 a large number of librarians from across the world gathered to discuss this topic through workshops, presentations, networking and posters with an emphasis on how we develop our workforces to facilitate information literacy development. This volume includes 23 papers from a variety of countries and sectors. For a flavour of the conference read the following peer-reviewed paper (extra to the Proceedings) which was presented at the Satellite Conference.
