Public Access Policy Toolkit for Libraries

Abstract

The Public Access Policy Toolkit looks at the different policy areas where libraries may need to advocate to ensure that all our institutions can provide internet access to their users. With much progress still needed to ensure that all libraries are connected to the internet, IFLA has worked through the Dynamic Coalition on Public Access in Libraries at the Internet Governance Forum to produce a toolkit for advocacy on this topic. The toolkit provides an overview of the different policy areas where government action is necessary. It is intended for libraries and library associations who can use the diagnostic toolkit at the beginning to choose priorities. You can then use the key advocacy points to shape your own campaigning, and the additional links to find out more.
