Abstract

Zagreb Library Association (ZLA, Croatian Zagrebačko knjižničarsko društvo, ZKD) is the biggest regional professional association in Croatia that gathers library professionals from the City of Zagreb and Zagreb County area. After the pandemia a lot of people started to look up for the outdoor time and recreational platforms. ZLA has recognized the niche and decided to create project "Librarian's adventure" as the first Librarian Virtual Walking/Running or Riding Event Platform in Croatia. Project aims to promote physical activity, advocate the importance of the local libraries and support urban sustainable development with a goal to connect, engage and inspire the general public under the support and patronage of the library association. Project "Librarian's adventure" is FREE Librarian Virtual Walking/Running or Riding Event Platform. Project includes 2 virtual TOURS (BIG TOUR I. – City of Zagreb and BIG TOUR II – Zagreb County) with 21 small local routes. Participants are encouraging to virtually visit more than 50 libraries in the area and after each route they got 3 book recommendation from ZLA members with the info of nearest local library contact. Goals are to promote libraries and library services in City of Zagreb and Zagreb County, reading, literature, lifelong learning and healthy life style. Project is financed and maintained by ZLA members as volunteers and has a 5 sponsors witch will donate book to the tour winners. Awards for the participants are: virtual medal, book recommendations, printed 3D medals with motives of City of Zagreb and with motives of Zagreb County, and coffee with famous author and signed book by author. Project launch at January 2022 and it has over 60 active participants.
