Abstract: The poster will present the short history of New Information Professionals (NIP), the task group of Zagreb Library Association from Croatia. It will cover their main objectives, goals and give an overview of projects and activities that were carried out since their beginnings. Throughout projects, NIP tries to encourage young librarians to become actively involved in librarian community, connect with each other and become visible to the general public. Also, the poster will show that it is possible for a group of complete strangers to work together on a volunteer basis and create unique and inspiring projects. The poster will contain photos and a brief description of their projects and activities, for example, of a flash mob in Technical Museum Nikola Tesla, interactive map of libraries, online exhibition “Tie around a bookish neck” and many more. In this way, NIP want to show how they were able to connect with other librarians in Croatia, engage and inspire students to join their work, all with an aspiration to encourage and promote collaboration of librarians and new information professionals around the world.
