Abstract: This poster explores cybersecurity trends and incidents worldwide, emphasizing their impact on libraries. We apply the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework (CSR) to the library context, focusing on the first core function as an example. Best practices for securing library websites are showcased, considering their role as crucial access points for users. The roles and responsibilities of library IT professionals in implementing cybersecurity measures are discussed, emphasizing the significance of their expertise in safeguarding library systems and data. The presentation aims to raise awareness about the growing importance of cybersecurity in libraries and offers practical insights to fortify their defenses against cyber threats.
