    Minutes of Meeting: RSCVD Steering Committee, 18 July 2024

    The Resource Sharing Collaborative and Voluntary Document Delivery (RSCVD) Steering Committee met as part of the monthly meetings and discussed the expansion of the number of countries signing up for RSCVD group. The second ponint discussed the planning of workshops and webinars in India, in Santander (Spain), and future ones for the MENA region and more in Asia. A SWOT analysis Strenght, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threat will be done for the RSCVD group and presented in webinars and the ILDS session in Baku in Dec. 2024. The third point suggested more outreach to be done for RSCVD to expand the global netwrok and benefit libraries around the world. The last point discussed the future of Talaria and future communications ad integration with other systems. This could be a Masters thesis subject.

    Minutes of Meeting: RSCVD Steering Commitee, September 2024

    The Resource Sharing Collaborative and Voluntary Document Delivery (RSCVD) Steering Committee met as per the monthly meetings and discussed the results of the webinar done in India. The webinar was successful and participants show an interest to the new RSCVD initiative. The second point discussed a new collaborative project between the Bodleain Library in Oxford and the Qatar National Library to provide materials to the Palestinian Scholars and Libraries in Gaza and the West Bank. The project was discussed to seek bigger collaboration with the RSCVD anbd DDRS committees, and was recommended to ask all libraries to sign up with the RSCVD Group to be member with the bigger community and by that can have a wider access to resources. It was suggested to reach out to UNRWA or ESCWA to share the message on their website. The third point discussed Talaria updates with new enhancements with in the statistics. The fourth point discussed the results of the webinar in Sanander (Spain) and the SWOT analysis was presented as part of the analyzing the future of RSCVD. The last point discussed the RSCVD session planned at the Interlending and Document Supply in Baku to be held between 2-4 December.

    Minutes of Meetings: Document Delivery and Resource Sharing Section, 03 October 2024

    The Document Delivery and Resource Sharing (DDRS) Standing Committee met as per the monthly meeting and discussed the the updates on the DDRS guidelines whcih are still in progress.. The Interlending and Document Supply Conference 2024 will be held in Baku between 2-4 Dec. and the planning is going well, with finalization of the program and strategies to market widely and encourage librarians to participate. The third point showed updates on the 4th webinar to be held in November in Spanish for the South American population. The fourth point discussed the participation of the RSCVD group in ILDS . In the fifth point, Katia shared the new collaborative project between the Bodleain Library in Oxford and the Qatar National Library to help the Palestinian Scholars with scanned documents. The project was shared to see how the DDRS Committee can help in the process. It was recommende do contact key section in UNRWA or ESCWA (UN agencies) and add the RSCVD link on their website and encourage libraries to sign in. By that they will receive documents from all over the world. The meeting ended with a 15 minutes presetnation on how the ILL is done in Sweden. This is part of the International Perspectives pointL to gain more insight on how others countries handle the Resoruce Sharing.

    Minutes of Meetings: Document Delivery and Resource Sharing Section, 05 September 2024

    The DDRS Standing Committee met on the 5th of September 2024 and discussed the latest udates on the action plan: the ILDS Conference planning is on the right track in terms of papers, logistics, website, social programs, sponsors, etc. The next plan is the outreach and encouraging more people to register to the conference to be held in Baku Azerbaijan on December 2-4, 2024. The 3rd webinar series was held on the 29th of August for the Spanish speaking countries , and it talked about the Copyright with 2 speakers one Mexican and another Portugese. The RSCVD group were busy preparing webinars for Indian and Santander on the 10th and 16 of Septebmer. Notes from the Division F business meeting was held on August 29th were shared by the chair of DDRS where more collaboration with various groups was obeserved.

    Summary of CDPWL Mid-year Meeting 30 March 2024: After welcome, approval of agenda and minutes by Helen Chan, the meeting continued with an IFLA CPDWL Professional Sharing session where Dr. Gillian Hallam delivered a presentation titled 'Leading a Working Group.' The presentation featured examples from the CPDWL Working Group on Guidelines, where Gillian serves as co-chair. She outlined her principles of project management. One-day program connected to IFLA Information Futures Summit in Brisbane, Australia from 30 September – 3 October 2024 .This program is planned to include a Mentor/Mentee Dynamic Workshop from 10 AM to 12 AM AEST, in partnership with NPSIG, ALIA SNGG, and ALIA Green. Webinar Working Group plans to host three annual webinars aligned with the IFLA cycle, addressing the needs across all library sectors of different regions. The partners of the webinar series are Regional Division Committees from the EU, MENA, SSA, and LAC regions. The first webinar titled "Employers and Employees: Key Players in Continuing Professional Development" occurred on January 24, 2024. The first session of online coaching was scheduled, following the CPDWL Mid-Year Meeting and webinar.

    The ninth meeting of the Regional Council 2023-2025 was held virtually on 6 August 2024. Items discussed during this meeting include welcome by the Regional Council Chair, followed by updates from Governing Board, Professional Council, Regional Division Committee Chairs, and Headquarters. Additionally, the Regional Division Committee Evaluation Process was discussed, alongside the mid-term review of the Regional Council. An update on the Regional Council Action Plan was shared during this meeting. Future Deep-Dives were explored, while the RDC participation process at the upcoming WLIC 2025 and the partnerships exploration in the region were highlighted.

    The sixth meeting of the Regional Council 2023-2025 was held virtually on 5 March 2024. Items discussed during this meeting include welcome by the Regional Council Chair, followed by updates from Governing Board, Professional Council, and Headquarters. Additionally, there were four Deep-Dive issues discussed: 1) Changing perceptions of libraries among governments over COVID-19, 2) Changing perceptions of libraries among communities over COVID-19, 3) Changing self-perceptions of libraries over COVID-19, 3) Next steps with this work. Updates on work to develop contacts in New York, and other advocacy work were also discussed, alongside updates on communications and on methods for reviewing Regional Division Committees, and exchange of RDC chair experiences.

    The seventh meeting of the Regional Council 2023-2025 was held virtually on 17 January 2024. Items discussed during this meeting include welcome by the Regional Council Chair, followed by updates from Governing Board, Professional Council, and Headquarters. Additionally, there was two Deep-Dive issues discussed: i) effective working practices between professional and regional units, ii) how to engage in the Information Futures Summit. Updates on work on RDC Reviews were also mentioned, alongside updates on communication and advocacy work. Discussion took place at the end about future deep-dive themes.

One Deep-Dive issue was discussed about the drivers of engagement in RDC work (and how to shape them). Additionally, the RC members were engaged in a discussion about how to maximize regional participation and updates on the Regional Council Action Plan were also shared.

    The Committee discussed the latest developments in the Talaria software where 2 students were hired for 6 months to investigate reporting technologies and implementing them in Talaria. The newly registered libraries in Talaria will receive a welcome email, and more developments in progress.A new brochure about RSCVD/Talaria was designed to be used in outreach activities. The research4 Life project was also discussed and Peter Bae is doing more investigation to check the scope of the project. More outreach activities are planned in Santander in September, in India as a webinar, another meeting planned in October, and the ALA Conference in San Diego in June. Digital Archiving project to be initiated by Katia to preserve RSCVD history.

    The DDRS Standing Committee met on the 13th of June 2024 and discussed the latest updates on the Action plan: the ILDS Conference date has been changed t0 2-4 December 2024 and approved. The 3rd webinar series will be scheduled in August 2024 under the topic: Licenses and Copyright. The 4th webinar will take place in November 2024 about Open Access. The RSCVD updates included enhancements in Talaria, along to a new brochure being created for outreach. The Research4 life project is under consideration with a potential collaboration with RSCVD. Outreach activities will be held in September in Santander Spain, along to webinar in India. Digital archiving will involve documenting all the RSCVD History since its inception.

    The MLAS Mid-Year Meeting was held in conjunction with the 13th Eurasian Academic Libraries Conference (EALC) which is a collaboration between the Nazarbayev University Library and the IFLA Management of Library Associations Section (MLAS) from 29 to 31 May 2024 in Astana, Kazakhstan. The title of the conference was "Connect, Collaborate, Create: Advancing Library Associations and Partnerships to Future-proof our Profession." The MLAS Session was held from 15:00 to 17:00 (Astana Time) on 29th, 30th and 31st May 2024. The Meeting was held in hybrid format(In-person and Online) and open to MLAS members as observers. Among the matters discussed at the meeting include the following: Updates from IFLA Governing Board; the MLAS Open Session was held on 17th May in collaboration with the Lebanese Library Association (LLA), the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region, and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN ESCWA); future MLAS collaboration; Co-option of MLAS SC Members; Programme of Mentoring; Building Strong Library Associations; updates on Advocacy Impact Evaluation (AIE) Project; IFLA Draft Strategy Survey; updates on NPSIG and WILSIG.
