Abstract
Pahang Care Centre (Pusat Prihatin Pahang) is a flagship initiative by the Pahang State Government, delivered through collaboration between agencies and NGOs under the leadership of the Chairman of the Pahang State Committee for Community Welfare, Women’s Development, and Family. The centre functions as an integrated community hub, a replicable model for addressing social challenges and curbing immoral activities.
Pusat Prihatin Pahang transforms lives by evolving the library into a critical social safety net. By integrating Affiliated Library within a welfare hub, it breaks cycles of poverty by empowering the homeless and underprivileged through literacy and digital inclusion, proving libraries are essential for human dignity and equity.
Beyond its collection, Mini Library organises literacy programmes, including reading sessions, homework support, and digital learning. These initiatives provide invaluable support to children from low-income families, strengthening their educational development. Daily, a total of 60 students uses the library as a safe, inspiring space to learn and participate in meaningful activities.
Importantly, Pahang State Library extends support to the homeless community by providing access to learning resources and self-development programmes. This inclusive approach helps build confidence, inspire hope, and empower individuals to pursue a brighter, more sustainable future.
