Abstract
The National Library of Serbia has decided to strengthen its activities in the SDG fields. In December 2022, we installed solar panels on the roof of NPL to use clean energy to perform as many jobs as possible. The project was realized with the support and funds of the Ministry of Culture of Serbia.
They recognized the significance and importance of this project. Especially since the National Library of Serbia is now the only cultural institution of national importance that uses this source of clean energy.
Library activities show a variety of ways in which libraries have contributed to wider efforts to achieve the goals of the SDG – The UN 2030 Agenda is a framework of 17 SDGs spanning economic, environmental, and social development.
One of them is SDG no 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all.
The Global Roadmap for Accelerated SDG 7 Action calls for action in five key areas: closing the energy access gap; rapidly transitioning to decarbonized energy systems; mobilizing adequate and predictable finance; leaving no one behind on the path to a net-zero future; and harnessing innovation, technology, and data.
The character of the project is permanent.
