This issue of the IFLA Journal explores international developments in library and information services, highlighting challenges and innovations in diverse regions. Articles cover topics such as national information policies in Thailand, gender equity in librarianship, outreach programs for rural communities in Kenya, and the role of public libraries in social change. Additional contributions address standards for metadata and authority control in Chinese libraries, and initiatives for distance education and access equity. Together, the articles emphasize the importance of inclusive, adaptable, and forward-thinking library practices in addressing global information needs and supporting sustainable development.
