New technological development and service models in the 21st century have brought tremendous changes to academic libraries in China including information resources digitization, knowledge commons, MOOCs, mobile service, institutional repositories, data curation, social media network, and open access. Academic libraries in China are in an era of repositioning and development with both challenges and opportunities posed by technological transformation. This poster session describes some major trends in academic library service in China, as well as challenges and opportunities. The trends relate to the profound impact of new technology on academic libraries, the increasingly rapid pace of change faced by academic libraries, the rising expectations of faculty and students, and the new roles of academic librarians in teaching, research and service. Photographs, statistics, graphs, and pieces of text will be used in the poster.en
