Resolution for the French Government and French municipalities to support the principles of the UNESCO Public Library Manifesto [1997]

Abstract

This resolution called for a formal commitment from the "French Government and French municipalities" to ensuring free, universal access to information, culture, and lifelong learning. Proposed and approved by all officers of Division III, Libraries Serving the General Public, Sissel Nilsen, Chair, and Philip Gill, Secretary; and Marie-Martine Tomitch, Secretary General of the Association of General Librarians. Adopted at the 63rd IFLA General Conference and Council, Copenhagen, 5 September 1997.
