Abstract
Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming libraries by introducing new tools and workflows that support information services, user engagement, and internal processes. As AI becomes increasingly integrated into the library ecosystem, understanding librarians’ perceptions, concerns, and training needs is crucial for successful and ethical adoption.
This poster presents findings from a survey conducted among 194 Czech librarians in May 2025, focusing on their attitudes towards AI, current use of AI tools, perceived benefits and risks, and interest in further education. The results show that over half of respondents use AI tools weekly or monthly, with the greatest perceived potential in creating educational materials and conducting data analytics. However, concerns about ethical risks, privacy, and insufficient digital competencies remain significant barriers.
Based on these insights, we propose a three-level training framework for librarians, aiming to raise awareness, build practical skills, and support advanced AI applications in library workflows. The poster also includes an interactive element, inviting participants to share their own views on AI in libraries.
