Abstract
This poster presents an Open Educational Resource (OER) available in English and Spanish for academic libraries of all levels to teach information literacy concepts to students. It introduces the philosophy behind the course, its structure, and assessment of its implementation. The original US-based course was in English. A team of five institutions (four in Mexico and one in the United States) created a linguistic and cultural adaptation of the course appropriate for international Spanish-speaking contexts. Key features of the course and the assessment of its impact on student learning will be presented on the poster in both English and Spanish emphasizing the global reach and utility of this resource. Poster session attendees will learn more about the project and how they can get the course files (available for Moodle or Canvas) to implement at their own institutions. The goals of this international project support SDG 4 (Quality Education) by leveraging the better-resourced libraries in the United States and Mexico to create a resource that can be implemented directly or adapted by libraries in less-resourced areas. Attendees from other regions will learn how they can join the project to create adaptations in additional languages to increase its global reach.
