dc.description.abstractThis issue of the IFLA Journal explores the historical and contemporary development of libraries across Asia, including China, Japan, Thailand, and India. Articles examine the evolution of library services, the influence of cultural and educational reforms, and the emergence of professional training programs. Special attention is given to international cooperation, such as the IFLA/ALP initiatives and collaborative projects in information access and technology. The issue highlights the unique challenges and achievements of Asian libraries, illustrating their vital role in cultural preservation and knowledge dissemination.
