Report on IFLA's activities from July 1975 to July 1976 by IFLA Secretary General, Margreet Wijnstroom. From the Introduction: "IFLA - as has been stated many times before - can be no more than the sum of its - now - 140 members-associations and 504 member-institutions in 100 countries. Since 1971, IFLA has grown spectacularly, with more than a doubling in its membership, and the coverage of countries. IFLA's existence is justified only because the profession is clearly in need of cooperation regardless of national boundaries. IFLA is not an aim in itself but only a means to achieve international programmes of action in the library and information field. It is in this spirit that this fleeting view of IFLA 1975-1976 is presented." [suivi d' un sommaire français (pp. 22- 26)]
