dc.description.abstractThe San Diego State University (SDSU) Library (San Diego, CA, USA) has made sustainability a key component of its new strategic plan, especially Goal Area 2: Resilience: Designed to Thrive (https://library.sdsu.edu/about-us/strategic-plan/goal-2). This poster presents initial efforts and next steps toward establishing library programs and services demonstrating a strategic commitment to collaboration with campus and community colleagues on sustainability and the library's contribution to the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The poster highlights and describes three of several initiatives demonstrating the impact of library programs on campus and community members in alignment with the UN SDGs: 1) Open Educational Resources (Goal 4: Quality Education; Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities); 2) Health Information Partnership (Goal 3: Good Health and Well Being; Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals); and 3) Public Programs (Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities). The poster also identifies next steps toward sustainability, including the establishment of a “Library Green Team,” pursuit of Sustainable Libraries Initiative certification for our library, and articulation of connections between other University Library initiatives and campus commitments to sustainability, sustainable development, and sustainability research.en_US
