Abstract
Sharif University is one of the Iranian top ranked universities in Middle East, Asia and has a well-developed libraries. It has the best students in region all these years and shares a large number of elites in economy, politics and culture. This research was to see if Sharif library members (elite students) read non-text books and if it is useful to buy non text books for such an academic library. Moreover, It studied the factors which influenced elite students to read more. It focused on the role of parents and some individual factors that may be important in this matter.
Method: This was a cross-sectional survey with a descriptive- analytical approach. The population was 4,000 undergraduate elite students of Sharif University and 350 students were considered according to Cochran formula as the research sample. The data collection tool was a questionnaire that reliability through Cronbach's alpha coefficient was examined.
