Abstract
The goal of our project "Bala-DARYN Inclusive Animation Studio" is to develop the creative abilities of children with disabilities, foster a reading love, introduce them to modern technologies and support their social integration.
The library is equipped with digital and innovative tools such as graphic tablets, the Octopus animation studio, and the Animated Drawings system. These technologies enable children with disabilities to engage in creative activities on an equal footing with their peers.
In the studio, children create cartoons from scratch — developing storylines inspired by books they’ve read or by their own ideas. They craft characters from plasticine, draw on paper and tablets, and participate in all stages of production, including writing scripts, directing, and sound design.
Children have already produced animated films based on the works of the Kazakh classic writer Ibray Altynsarin and other global classic writers too. The completed films are shown in the studio on a large touchscreen and shared on the library’s website and social media platforms.
More than 100 children have taken part in the project. Through this animation studio, the library has become a space that unites creative young minds — including those with disabilities and encourages reading, self-expression, and technological exploration.
