Abstract
AMICAL is a consortium of American liberal arts institutions outside the United States working together on common goals for libraries, technology and learning across borders. In this poster, librarians from three AMICAL institutions (The American Universities in Paris, Sharjah, and Cairo) will discuss the evolution of information literacy practices at their respective institutions over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic. AUP will highlight their new virtual exchange program partnership with another university (AUI) and the lessons learned from students’ exchange experiences. AUS will then discuss their pivot over to an “à la carte” approach for IL instruction during the pandemic and the use of Credo models for reference. Finally, AUC will address the shifting models of instruction for their 15-week information literacy course (required for all students) and the debut of their new Hyflex Dual Delivery instructional technology to teach to both Zoom and in-person students simultaneously in the same classroom. Each institution will discuss their successes and challenges in how these ideas were put into practice to enhance engagement and connection with their users during an uncertain time. Additionally, the librarians will discuss all the lessons learned that can be taken into the future in a post-pandemic world.
Our poster is written in English and divided into three sections to give each university the space and opportunity to present their novel instructional practices in both text and images.
