This issue of the IFLA Journal explores the evolving roles of libraries and librarians in an era of digital transformation and global information exchange. Articles examine scientific communication, library user education, professional training, and the challenges of developing information infrastructures in under-resourced regions. Special attention is given to gender equity in library leadership and efforts to improve access to information in Africa. Through comparative analyses and case studies, the issue emphasizes the importance of innovation, cooperation, and policy support in strengthening library services and ensuring equitable access to knowledge across diverse global contexts.
