Abstract
Following on from the model of the original edition in 2013, as well as subsequent updates, the Trend Report 2024 is designed to provide the library field with a vital tool for planning for the future. This is the first major revision of the Report since the original – an exciting opportunity to go back to basics. The first phase of the 2024 Report is a literature review, drawing on insights from across disciplines and around the world, into what may be driving the future of information and knowledge. This focus – wider than libraries, but not so wide as to cover everything – is intended to provide a key reference point for our field, both in our own work, and our collaboration with others. The literature review is the work of Professor Michael Dezuanni and Dr Kim Osman, at the Digital Media Research Centre in the School of Communication at Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia.
