Abstract
Librarians as Culturally Responsive Leaders introduces concepts from a project designed to share resources to support librarians in building understanding and enhancing professional practice. This work is grounded in the premise that librarians serve diverse populations and that we must effectively attend to the dynamic needs of patrons. In this context, it is imperative for librarians to have ongoing opportunities to develop understanding and skills to effectively respond to complex community needs. Culturally responsive leaders are aware of the impact of bias on their own lives and the lives of community members. They are committed to growing understanding of and confronting challenges stemming from systemic oppression. This poster provides information from the project for librarians and other community leaders interested in developing culturally responsive knowledge and practices.
