Sommarboken!

Abstract

Libraries are public spaces where both newcomers and native citizens have opportunities to gain literacy skills and develop a love of reading for pleasure, to gain access to knowledge and meet new friends. Sommarboken is our way of supporting libraries to seek new ways of reaching out and create young readers and give them a ticket to a world of art and imagination. Sommarboken wants to encourage the librarians to work in other ways by developing methods for reading promotion and share the love of reading. Before the campaign stars in June, Kultur I Väst arrange kick-off conferences for children’s librarians and together get inspiration and change experiences and best practice.
