dc.description.abstract"Sing a Song for Public Libraries" is a public relations project designed to raise public awareness about public libraries and raise the level of existing awareness. Within the scope of the project, a song (called “Turku”) selected from Turkish Folk Music, a music genre that the most preferred by the Turkish society, was selected and “art” and “culture” were brought together under the concept of "public". Thus, it was aimed to reach the wider public groups by means of the video prepared in the center of the kind of music that the most preferred by the public. General counseling of the project has been a teaching faculty member (associate professor) working on public relations in library science for over twenty years; art consultancy has been undertaken by two artists who have been Turkish Folk Music artists for 35 years. One of the thirteen singer who sing the project folk song is a lecturer in librarianship; others are librarians works in various public libraries in Turkey.en
