Abstract

The IFLA Library Publishing Special Interest Group (SIG) was founded in Kuala Lumpur at the WLIC in 2018 to support the development of the international library publishing community. Library Publishing is a set of activities led by libraries to support the creation, dissemination, and curation of scholarly, creative, and/or educational works. The Library Publishing SIG has held a number of key international events including a Mid-Term Meetings in Dublin in 2019 and in Oslo in 2020, a virtual Open Programme in October 2020, an online interview with Katherine Skinner and Brandon Locke of Educopia at the online only WLIC 2021, and an in-person Open Session at WLIC 2022 in Dublin. The Library compiles and publishes the IFLA's Global Library Publishing Map in conjunction with the Library Publishing Coalition which publishes the Library Publishing Directory. This year, the map expanded to include some 180 library publishers worldwide.
